26 Days Later…

This past month has been one hell of a roller-coaster ride. To summarize…

The “ups”:

Designed my nails for Valentine’s Day, posted it on my tumblr, and got lots of positive feedback in return!

Received a Valentine’s Day card from my secret admirer…

Chinese New Years! Red pocket money paid off my credit card bill. Yay!

Got a good deal on a pair of Sorel’s on a shopping trip with Joey (who got a matching pair)!

What fun is a roller-coaster with no “downs”?

Had a bout with a bladder infection that involved a romantic late-evening date in a crowded hospital. So grateful for good friends

Dream High finale almost completely sucked. Almost.

That’s all I’m comfortable with sharing. Though it’s been a relatively rough February, I feel like I’ve come out learning to appreciate people and things much more through these experiences (like not procrastinating on every little task).

Once again, I want to express my thankfulness for my few but amazing friends (you know who you are), for looking out for me and/or just being there to experience these “ups” and “downs” together on our roller-coaster called Life.

Ohhhh, crap.

After furiously writing my last essay in 4 hours last night to submit before midnight, I felt so relieved when I woke up this morning …at 7am. So relieved that I was wide awake at such an ungodly hour.

When I checked dstanley during class this morning, I was surprised to see a number of shows that I missed on Sunday and last night: Glee (Superbowl special – congrats, GB Packers!), HIMYM, Pretty Little Liars, and Gossip Girl.

Accomplishment of the morning: I downloaded all of them before the end of class.

I know it’s a bit late, but I’m currently downloading the Golden Globe awards because I missed it and Ricky Gervais’ hosting.

Now I have stuff to watch and keep me preoccupied during study breaks for a day!

Glee is on again tonight!!

Missing Home.

I’ve been holding up pretty well these past couple weeks; staying in Waterloo for 2 whole weeks in a row.

I just started to miss home when I thought of my weekends at home: living on my bed and bothering my bro and parents.

But I’ve had plenty of things to distract me, namely this stupid paper I have to write that’s due tomorrow… And drama and TV shows and movies and volunteering stuff I did this weekend.

Dream High is my new favourite drama! I’m starting to like it as much as You’re Beautiful. The characters are all so cute!

Nikita and Vampire Diaries came back this week! Happy, happy, happy…

What volunteering this weekend entailed:

Free over-sized tee

Free gangsta stamp-tattoos

Free BlackBerry gum (is not blackberry-flavoured, sadly)

Free bubble tea at 1 in the morning

It was pretty fun. I watched Inception for the fourth/fifth time and also watched Going the Distance, a really funny movie that had too many sex jokes for my liking.

Painted my nails again after letting them go bare for a week. Well, they had a tinge of yellow the last time I removed the nail polish. Yucks.

This blue didn’t turn out the way I thought it would; I keep forgetting that paint dries darker.

Then I decided to try Joey’s crackle nail polish by OPI:

Pretty cool, right? I probably won’t buy one for myself… It’s different, but it’s not something I’d keep wearing.

It’s been a while since my last post. Nothing special has happened since then… except Christmas… and New Years.

Have a (Super-Belated) Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Currently I’m at the start of a new term, taking courses to figure out what direction I want to take in terms of my prospective career, trying to be more connected with other people on campus, watching a ton of new shows, and… nothing special.

For some reason, the first day back in school is always somewhat nerve-wracking. You have to adjust your entire schedule — the time you have to get up and the time you sleep, what routes you have to take to get to classes, friends you can meet somewhere during your day — whether you like it or not. At first it’s tiring, but eventually you get the hang of it. For instance, I have to get up at 7 in the morning on Tuesdays and Thursdays now. I haven’t woken up before 8-ish since … some day in the summer. Nor have I ever woken up in the dark. Having to wake up at 7am would also mean having to sleep before 11pm in order to get enough hours of sleep. For someone who slept every night (early morning?) close to 3 or 4am, suddenly attempting to sleep at 11pm is a hard feat. It feels like jet-lag.

Now that Mandypants has left for her co-op term, it’s just me, Jo, and Tbomb. Mandypants is greatly missed.

Not much has changed, though…

I finally finished my last exam this evening. FINALLY.

This time, I managed to finish all 3 essays on my 2.5 hr exam. I really don’t know how some people finish in 2 or less…

So afterwards, I came home to an empty apartment, ate instant noodles and watched Pride & Prejudice (2005) – the one with Keira Knightley. Honestly, it was a waste of time. The first hour of the movie was the first and second volume of the book, and the remaining hour consisted of random scenes of nothingness and sped-up parts of the third volume.

Currently I am downloading magazines off of Jmagazinescans on Livejournal. Vivi, Mina, Jelly, Popsister, etc. It’s all there.

Now to download some shows for the holidays…

It’s 1:11! Make a wish! …or was it at 11:11? Meh.

First round of exams are done… and the second round starts next week. Yaaaayyy…

I’m completely relaxing now. Today has been a relatively uneventful day, as it started at noon. These were the highlights of my day:

• I made fried rice for lunch
• talked to Joey (the only other human being currently at home – TINA COME HOME if you’re reading this >:/)
• officially ordered the last damn Christmas gift online,
• made veggie soup for dinner
• found out that my dad got tickets to Eason Chan’s concert
• told Tiff and Jordan about it online
• watched 3 episodes of Mary Stayed Out All Night

I feel a small sense of satisfaction in my activities. To feel a bit more satisfied, I am now going to study for my next exams early!

I need a break… I need a KitKat.

I wish I had a KitKat right now! I’ve just completed an exam this morning… The upside to that is that I know I passed it.

Funny story: I woke up 5 minutes before the bus came, threw on clothes and ran out the door, and actually made it to the stop just as the bus came around the bend. Pheeeeew! Thank God.

Right now I’m taking another break from studying for my 2 exams tomorrow. Funfunfun.

…Jang Geun Suk! He has the cutest smile and all, but he has a very… feminine body. By the way, I’m currently watching Mary Stayed Out All Night (매리는 외박중). I watched the first episode and am lovin’ it, and will watch the rest if I survive tomorrow’s exams.

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

This morning, I went to the meeting house for the second time with Joey, her bf, and my friend. It’s held at our local mall’s cinema. How cool is that?! After service, the pastor told us to leave as quickly as possible because HP7 was to be shown in the theatre we were in. True to his word, there was already a huge lineup just outside our theatre. Sadly, there were no HP cosplayers…

Making a last-minute decision on the road, this became my extremely healthy lunch today:

McD’s large fries with a cup of free coffee… nomnomnom

Is it reasonable to say that I feel like I’m getting fatter? Their fries are the only thing I like on the menu aside from their scrumptious apple pies… Everything else makes my stomach queasy.

As of now, my work load is down to the bare minimum – no huge tests to study for or papers to write; just reading. In 2 of my English courses, we’re reading Pride & Prejudice (don’t know if I should download the film too). Really grateful for that. In my last lecture & tutorial, we discussed how this novel is mainly about upper middle class characters who have too much leisure time. They really don’t do anything besides attend balls, read, play instruments, and talk about meaningless things. Speaking of having too much extra time on my hands… Joey lent to me this electric-blue nail polish:
